Fear of failure and fear of people - so called ‘FoF and FoP’ - are two of the biggest anchors on the creativity and success of humanity.
They are certainly two of the main causes of the kind of career stagnation that leads eventually to boredom and frustration.
The thinking goes like this, “Why should I try to improve it and risk failure if I can successfully maintain it and then my boss won’t have a go at me for failing!”
On the other hand from the employer’s point of view, even though it is inevitably accompanied by an element of risk, the advancement and improvement that result from the implementation of change are always preferred to the lack of activity and the stifled progress that result from FoF and FoP.
