Avoiding Business Disruption from Adverse Weather 🌦️

With many parts of the UK continuing to experience challenging weather conditions, it’s important for employers to take proactive steps to minimise disruption.

Clear communication is key. Employers should ensure employees are familiar with the organisation’s Severe Weather and Travel Disruption Policy, including what to do if they’re delayed or unable to attend work.

If closures are unavoidable, practical options may include:

🏠 Temporary homeworking
📍 Working from an alternative site
🌴 Taking annual leave or banked TOIL
⏸️ Temporary lay-off arrangements

It’s also worth remembering that working parents may be entitled to time off for dependants where childcare arrangements are affected by school or nursery closures.

Planning ahead helps protect both business continuity and employee wellbeing. 💼🤝
