Many of us have career aspirations that may seem impossible for us to achieve.
However, in order to realise any aspiration, the same principles apply as for any other journey you wish to undertake.
For any journey, one of your first tasks is to know where your starting point is: only then can you plan the route you need to take in order to reach the destination.
You will also need to do lots of research into various different destinations so that you can decide which is the most appropriate one for you.
If we formalise these ideas and apply them to our career aspirations, we finish up with a top-down 5-step approach:
Step 1 - Objective: write down your career aspiration.
Step 2 - Goal: define it very specifically; set a time frame.
Step 3 - Plan: define a detailed action plan; include milestones.
Step 4 - Act: put in the work; be persistent; do something every day.
Step 5 - Review: focus on your objective; constantly review progress.
What may seem impossible can happen!
